Earlier this year, a pop-up restaurant opened in Japan which employed #dementia and #Alzheimers patients as its waitstaff.

The message was clear: to make people more understandable with the chronic brain disease AND to practically demonstrate that people with dementia can still be helpful.

Named as ‘The Restaurant of Order Mistakes’, founders initially wanted to test the idea and have plans to reopen it in September, around #WorldAlzheimersDay as reported by Yahoo! Japan.

Diners were readily warned beforehand that they may not be served the exact food as first ordered. But it turns out that people actually liked the whole concept, enjoyed the experience and found the food delicious, too.

With this themed #eatery, owners hope it will teach people to be patient with sufferers and spread the message of inclusivity by pointing out that people with dementia are capable members of functioning society.

#InsightOfTheDay : If Whatsapp’s ease of communication has you go gaga, then this is for you. If Amazon’s innovative solutions get you sold in a jiffy, maybe it’s time to think again.

In its annual report about data policies and user privacy, digital rights advocacy group, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) ranked these two tech companies (mentioned above), including some telecom giants, least compliant to safeguarding sensitive user data against government surveillance and intervention.

The EFF notes: “The data stored on our mobile phones, laptops, and especially our online services can, when aggregated, paint a detailed picture of our lives; where we go, who we see, what we say, our political affiliations, our religion, and more. While both companies (#Whatsapp and #Amazon) have done significant work to defend user privacy, their policies still lag behind.”
.
The non-profit organization evaluated 26 major tech companies on five categories. Only nine companies managed to get gold stars. They are: Adobe, Credo, Dropbox, Lyft, Pinterest, Sonic, Uber, Wickr, and WordPress.
